Nikola Tesla: One of the Great STEM Innovators


July 10th is the birthday of one of the all time great innovators in science, technology, engineering, and math – Nikola Tesla.

Facts about Tesla’s life:

  1. Born July 10, 1856
  2. Studies at the Polytechnic Institute in Graz, Austria and the University of Prague
  3. Came to the United States in 1884
  4. Because a naturalized citizen in 1891
  5. Died in New York City on January 7, 1943

Just a few of the more well-known innovations and inventions from Tesla’s life:

  1. Alternating current electrical system (used worldwide today)
  2. The tesla Coil (used in electrical equipment)
  3. Rotating magnetic field
  4. Radio frequencies
  5. Wireless transmission of power
  6. Wireless communication
  7. Remote control technology
  8. The bladeless electrical turbine
  9. RADAR
